Pima Community College - Pima Arts
Dance Adjunct Faculty and Discipline Lead

Julie Andrews

As the Dance Lead Teacher at Pima Community College, Julie Andrews brings nearly three decades of movement and pedagogical expertise to Pima Dance. She planted deep roots in the Tucson arts community during 27 years of teaching Dance and Language Arts in one local high school. Her career is built on a diverse academic foundation, beginning at Indiana University and culminating in an MFA in Dance and an MA in Language, Literacy, and Transformative Pedagogies from the University of Arizona. She has been recognized as a University of Arizona Amazing Teacher Finalist and also received Congressional Recognition of United States Inspiring Teachers from the House of Representatives.

When she isn’t guiding the next generation of dancers and educators, Julie also serves as a PCC Faculty Senator, Faculty Fellow, and the Secondary Education Lead for Post-Degree Teacher Certification. She shares her home with her family and their cats, and she loves travel, great books, abandoned buildings, and the smell of creosote during a Tucson monsoon.
